1997 – “Dancing at Lughnasa” by Brian Friel
Posted on: April 11, 1997 Written in 1990 and set in Ballybeg, Co. Donegal in 1936, the play revolves around the mundane lives of the five Mundy sisters Kate, Maggie, Agnes, Rose and Chris.
It is through the eyes of the now grown-up Michael, Chris’s illegitimate son, that we are transported back to the August of 1936 and to the Celtic harvest festival of La Lughnasa.
